As an absolute beginner, I picked these songs because I liked them, but, also because after reviewing the chords, I found them fairly easy to play. My practice routine is centered around practice of chords etc, and going through this list and playing it better every time through. Enjoy the process!!!!!

I've only recently picked up the guitar and for the life of me, cannot seem to work out or stick to a strum pattern. Not to mention my fear of F and B chords. These songs are more forgiving to my shortcomings and are generally really cool songs.
