Topic: Have you got the funk?

I took my youngest out for a Dadventure today.  As we pulled into the neighborhood, a super-funky Mingo Fishtrap song came on the iPod (just Google the name, lots of music samples on their page).   Anyway, she was chair dancing and having a ball.  We pulled up to the house as I remembered that I was supposed to pick up something from the grocery store while out, and had forgotten to do so.  I asked the youngest whether she wanted to go in and see Mommy or whether she wanted to run the last errand with me.  "I want to go in," she said.

"Are you sure?  The funky music's in the car."

"It's OK Dad.  The funk's in me." 

The kids a riot.

Took my grandson, Casey to a famous skateboard park in Jacksonville, Florida known as "Kona".
We read much about this huge park in the months before our visit. Arriving there, Casey found the huge park somewhat intimidating with the long, fast ramps and rough-looking, high-speed patrons.
The Case-man got started on some smaller, flater runs at first with low jumps. He hadn't skated in a while.
I made a run to get munchies and cold drinks and when I got back, My Case Monster proudly announced to me, " I got my mojo back."
I asked him to explain. He said he was nervous at first, but now was all the way back into his skateboard groove. He then kept up with the bigger, local skaters on the long, fast runs and impressed some of them.
He then spent an hour with a young beginner showing him some cool tricks.
I only have the one grandson but he is cool enough for two of him.

Very cute!  I love some of the things kids say.  In both these cases, I think they were right on target.  Zurf, your daughter clearly does have the funk in her!  And Casey sure does have mojo!  LOL!  lol  I love it!  Now, if I could just get my three year old GIRL to stop shouting out "I'm DADDY'S BOY!" every time she gets dirty I'd feel a little better.  Of course, she really probably should have been a boy... she makes him proud.  ha ha!

Sounds like something one of my kids would say. I don't know where they get it from but it sure is amusing to here some of the things they come up with!
