Hi Glennyboy

Welcome to Chordie
You can't actually e-mail the songbook from my limited knowledge.  What you will get is a link to the songbook which is what you appear to have got from the message above.

Hi Glennyboy - I will make sure the admin sees this thread.  I tried to send myself a songbook as well to test it and got a similar response.  Thanks for bringing this to our attention!

Re: emailed myself a songbook....doesn't work

I think Ian is on the right track there.  "your songbook" is really just a link to another data file which is basically an index of the songs you have elected to include in your "book".  The pages of which, are in themselves only links to files that are hosted on other sites, which are retrieved and formatted for your viewing pleasure in a uniform manner.  The best way to get a copy is to print a hard copy of each individual tune you want to retain, because Chordie does not have those files anywhere on it's server.  Your songbook is at the mercy of whatever sites which are hosting the songs individually, and if for some reason they are shut down, your links to them would be lost as well.

School supplies are on sale now so it is a good time to invest in paper ink and a couple binders to put it all in.

True - you won't have actually emailed the entire songbook just a link to it.  Nonetheless it's good to know that the feature isn't working so that the admin can fix it when he finds some time.

Doug is on the money... songs do disappear at times all because whomever is hosting it decides not to any longer.
