I'm new to guitars (about 1 year) and I bought a used 20th aniversary Squire Strat for $90. Is that good buy, and is it a good guitar?

i started playing with a squier strat. i find them to be really good guitars to begin with. they're reliable and of course, made by Fender. They sound lovely too.
if yours is a 20th anniversay series, if you keep it in good condition chances are the value will increase if you wait until say, their 30th or 40th anniversary.
i'd say you had a good buy <img src="images/smiley_icons/icon_smile.gif" border=0 alt="Smile">

id say some old squire strats are better then new fenders
good buy definately
Thanks! Well I've been playing it for a whilre now, my brother says its horrible, i thnink he's just lying cuz its better than his which is also a Strat, but he broke his so he cant plug it up to an amp now. I bought a Lyon distortion pedal for $10, its not very good, but for $10 I couldnt pass it up. It wears out of batteries after about 3 hurs of playing, so I recommend not getting one. I'm going to try to get a Boss.
what amp do you use
I dont have a guitar amp, i use the one my dad uses for karaoke, he got it at some store on sale for really cheap. It works pretty good.
I think if the guitar is cheaper, you should find out if it is mado of good wood, what strings are on it, ext.
danspr
The strings are irrelavent, what I like you may not. But you are correct in asking what type of wood the body is made of.
Bootlegger.
im personaly a gibson SG person (you can see by the name) but i do also like the feel of a stratocaster and they do sound good....
$90.00 for a strat (even a squire) is a great deal
for a 20 anniversary squire strat that is an excellent deal. glad you seized the oppurtnity=D
