Hello I am new to this site and I am not sure how to add a chord to a song . Also am I restricted to known songs or can the chord diagrams be added to my own lyrics ? And how do I find them copy them and use them ?

Hi Guy and welcome to Chordie,
I have moved your post here to the Songwriting section where it belongs.
If you read the 'Sticky' "How To Post An Original Song..." by James McCormick at the start of this section you will find out how to post your own songs with the chords so that they can be printed and others can comment on your work.
Do not worry if it does not come out right the first time you try it as the Moderators can correct any mistakes you make and let you know anything you do wrong. Because it is a specific was of writing everything has to be spot on for it to work and most of us have not got it right the first time.
