im thinking of getting a fender hauoli uke the cheaper one @ £99 just wonderd if any one out there has got one and what they think of them thanks

I played a couple in the store and was underwhelmed. You could get an Ibanez or Lanakai for the same money, and they sound better (and are, IMO, better built).

maxineontheuke- Do you already play the uke? I ask because I got a Fender uke and I had never played before. I've been playing a little over a year. My Fender is the Hau'oli (Happy) and I've been having a ball with it, but it's my first uke. Music stores don't seem to stock Ukes (at least in my area), so not sure if you walk in somewhere you'd have three or four to try out, but if so then I agree, try some out and see how you like them.

hi susan yes i do play but only for my own amusement but have jammed with a jazz trio on one occation , i dont know where you are based but many music shops stock ukes nowa days in london in paticular i have the fender now its great, that now makes number 4 i have a ashbury resonator uke an ohana pocket uke plus a makala i want to get an electric next year.

I bought a fender Nohea Uke when they first came out - IU just couldn't resist the Fender headstock on a Uke and wanted something durable to take to the beach, pool, etc. I'm sure there are better sounding Ukes out there, but the fender is a blast to play and sounds pretty damn good to me.
If it's good for the Train guitarist (Jimmy Stafford), it's good enough for me.

LOL What do I know!!!! Love the shirts!! I had one in orange and red and my wife told me the dog ate it!!! I melted down her Monkey records" Made picks out of Davey Jones!!!
