Topic: Grand Larceny anyone?

I recieved this email and I just had to shake my head its from a would be embezzler in Ghana he claims to be the bank manager and is trolling for dollars of course its a scam but I had a good laugh this is the content of the "offer"

Hello

Pardon me for not having the pleasure of knowing your mindset before making you this offer and it is utterly
confidential and genuine by virtue of its nature.

I write to solicit your assistance in a funds transfer deal involving US$3.5M.This fund has been stashed out of the
excess profit made last 2years by my branch office of the International Commercial Bank of Ghana which I am the manager.

I have already submitted an approved end-of-the-year report for the year 2007 to my head office here in Accra-Ghana and they will never know of this excess.

I have since then, placed this amount on a Non-Investment Account without a beneficiary. Upon your response, I will
configure your name on our database as holder of the Non-Investment Account. I will then guide you on how to
apply to my head office for the Account Closure/bank-to-bank remittance of the funds to your designated bank
account.

If you concur with this proposal, I intend for you to retain 30% of the funds while 70% shall be for me. Kindly forward
your response to me immediately

With Regards,
George Nduka

Re: Grand Larceny anyone?

Oh Yeah!  Sign me up!!  As IF a three year old financial report with a discrepancy of that amount would go un-noticed......?

Oh and we have to notice that it is the "excess profit made last 2 years by my branch office"  BUT the financial report is THREE years old.....  the sad thing is that there is someone out there not as sharp as you Russell, who might be scammed into playing along.

Good Catch and certainly worth a laugh!  Are you sure this shouldn't be in the Joke Thread?

I do have a question though, is Ghana still a Country?  Some of those smaller Nations change names depending on which way the Political Wind is blowing.

If this fellow really managed to skim 3,5Million $$ off of the bank, he'd be up against some bullet riddled wall by now!  Heck you can bet your sweet bippy that if somebody made off with something like 10% of our Gross Domestic Product, "Grand Larceny" would seem like a misdemeanor.

Take Care: & thanks for the chuckle.

I have some lovely Ocean front property in Arizona for sale if anyone is interested... just forward me your social security number, and copy of your drivers license, and ...

I get offers like yours all the time Russell.  I am constantly winning the "email lotto" or some lotto in another country, or someone has decided to name me as a beneficiary and their will was just read.  Yup... gotta love it.  I prefer my spam fried in a sandwich with cheese than in my inbox!  lol

It's getting crazier and crazier everyday with these scams.  I get about 5 a day.  I don't read them anymore.  I just delete.

Re: Grand Larceny anyone?

I'll start reading them and submit the ones I think are funny, Russell

Iw ent through some of my junk mail and found these two:

I am an investment consultant working with UBS International Holdings BV
in the Netherlands. I will be happy to work a transaction of $8.5million
out with you if you have a corporate or personal bank Account. If you are
interested, get back to me via my private email for further informations;

The second one:

is to notify you that we have your fund of USD$1,500,000.00 with us here in the UNITED NATIONS COMPENSATION COMMISSION WEST AFRICA and your email is among the beneficiary of the said fund. Due to your late response to our email and this transaction, there is someone here who said he is from your country and he says he is the owner of the fund. He said he ready to pay for the procurement of the legal documents which is $195 for the release of the found to him,he said is going to pay the $195 dollars . He has been held right away for verification purpose, for us to know if he is the real owner of this fund. Since the fund belongs to you we have to write you to let you know. About this serious issue that is going now.

Re: Grand Larceny anyone?

I guess the doctor told her she had two days to leave the hospital maybe.  She probably couldn't pay the bill without me giving her my bank account number.  Here's to Ms Blenda.

Re: Grand Larceny anyone?

I like the FBI agent in Africa.  Um, jurisdictionally that'd be CIA unless the FBI had been requested to do some forensics and crime scene stuff.  I don't recall seeing that in the news lately, so, uh, I guess that guy's just a couple thousand miles outside his jurisdiction.

The sad thing is that someone out there falls for this.  If it didn't work, they wouldn't send them.

Someday we'll win this thing...
