Topic: "Daughters"

Just thought I would share this. A few months ago I went to visit my daughter and we were driving around town and she started the CD player in my pickup and I had a Disc in it that I had recorded and wanted to see how it sounded in my cars stereo. I had forgot it was in there. There was just one song on the cd but she said can I have it. I said sure and never thought about it again.

This weekend my wife Lizzie went to visit her and they went shopping. Maria turned on her CD player and on come Dad playing
"Ride On" and my daughter was singing along and knew every word . Her mother thought it was so cool smile Maria called me later and said please send a CD with about 12 songs on it.

Maria's 21 yrs old now and is really a neat kid. She is a music junky and loves all kinds of music. When she was a fifth grader her science teacher had music trivia questions nearly everyday. The other kids were so frustrated when Maria would usually know the answers.

Music is the single best thing to break down barriers and bridge generation gaps, share your music with your kids smile

That's a really sweet story Wayne.  How wonderful to have your little girl, as an adult, appreciating you and your music!  I agree, there's nothing quite like music to bridge a gap.  Play on!

Couldn't agree with you more Wayne.  Good little story.  I know both of my daughters still listen to a lot of the music I played when they were growing up.  They are now 31 and 34.  They know a lot of the old music.  Life is good.

Here's a cute story on my daughter.  She's a whiz with memorizing lyrics, which I didn't know at first.  When she was very young, two and three years old, she'd ask for the same song night after night.  What I didn't know is that was her way of memorizing the lyrics.  When she was four, she declared that she didn't want a bath that night, but a shower - by herself.  OK, so we put her in the shower and left the door open so we could keep an eye on what she was up to.  Well, here she was a four year old suburban kid who has never been hungry and never had to worry about where she would lay her head down that night bellowing out loud as she can some 60's soul - "Looks like nothin's gonna change, Everything still looks the same, I can't do what ten people tell me to, so I guess I'll remain unchanged..."

She still sings in the shower, but now it's Taylor Swift and Hannah Montana.  I'm glad she's found her own style that she likes.

Nice story Wayne! That's got to be a great feeling smile

My oldest (11) has finally been showing a lot of interest in music. He plays in the school band and has been jamming a lot with me over the past few months smile I love it! He's a wiz on the bells and that goes so well with my style of music.

My daughter was always proud her "Poppy" played music. She volunteered me to play a trumpet solo in her middle school choir concert when her director mentioned a trumpeter was needed.
My lip was not in great shape but the solo was not too high and I got away with it. I was relieved. She was so proud she hugged my neck and told me all her friends and the director were impressed.

We pronounce it "Guf Coast".
