Topic: Beatles Lock Out

In the UK we can not see Beatles tunes. Does anyone know a way around this?

Re: Beatles Lock Out

Shy of taking a trip to the U.S., no I don't.

Which songs are you looking for?

Granted B chord amnesty by King of the Mutants (Long live the king).

Re: Beatles Lock Out

Is that on all sites or just on Chordie?

You can see all my video covers on http://www.youtube.com/bensonp1000
I have finally found happiness in my life.  Guitars, singing, beer and camping.  And they all intertwine wonderfully.

Re: Beatles Lock Out

It is only Chordie. Are you from the USA? I collected about 30 Beatles songs in my songbook and now I can't access them.

Same here! what's up with that?

Re: Beatles Lock Out

Hey folks... this issue has been going on for a while.  There's lots of comments, discussion, etc in the "about chordie" section.  Here's the most recent one:  http://www.chordie.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=14960

Wayne gave a suggestion of a site to try that apparently hasn't been attacked, YET, by the monster money mongers.  Errr... I mean, by the people who own legal rights to those songs and do not want them distributed freely (aka... they want their money!  LOL)

Strange how things work.  In the birthplace of the Beatles, you miss out on lots of Beatle-related stuff.  Here, we had a whole three-year Beatles cartoon series that you never even got to see until the 80s.

In Florida (Citrus Country) you sometimes have to drive several miles to find a container of fresh (not concentrated) orange juice.  In New York (no orange groves around for a thousand miles), they'll often GIVE you a container free when you buy a bagel.

No point to this rant.  I'm just illustrating the irony!

Anyway, we all probably have a few Beatles charts to send Bowtalk, don't we?

Me with my first ukulele, a Junior Beatles model, in 1966.  After Mom threw it down the stairs in a fit of rage, I became a drummer for life.  At age 43, I bought my second uke...

Dear all - I have read those links fromother places on the forum discussing this problem and the truth is I do have a solution but I wasn't sure I should let it be made public in case Big Brother shut that last source down as well. I asked the question to see what response I got. What do you all reckon? Should I publish what I think works here or not?

Re: Beatles Lock Out

Sorry guys but I have had an indication that unlocking this would give the administrators problems and whilst I am annoyed that UK users can't access Beatles music it seems that Chordie can't ignore these requests not to publish. But if you think about it you might be able to find out how to get access as I did. I have no knowledge of computers except very basic stuff and I just lucked in by constantly trying different things

Good luck

Re: Beatles Lock Out

what sucks so much is that the songs are over 40 years old now... once upon a time they'd have been in the public domain by now... curse you Sonny Bono, and RIAA and Walt Disney... copyright is far too long.
