Topic: Selling / Trading Forum

I am new to Chordie, but I notice there isn't a dedicated selling and trading forum.  I belong to a couple of other forums www.shavemyface.com and the http://www.fountainpennetwork.com/forum/.  They have Selling and Trading forums and they work well with members selling to fellow members.  If I have a fountain that I no longer use, I can sell or trade it to a member for something he has.  Wouldn't that work well here?  Why hasn't a selling / trading forum been started on Chordie?

Re: Selling / Trading Forum

Hey Tony, It's been discussed a few times before but we haven't reached any real consensus.... Most seem to be in favor but the details haven't been ironed out yet. Just wanted you to know that we have ,and still are (as far as I know) considering a classifieds section. Per will have to have the final word on the matter though since this is his baby smile

Re: Selling / Trading Forum

Hi Tony & Pix,

Seems to me that awhile back someone posted that they were selling one of their instruments and IF I recall, may have arranged a sale via e-mail from that posting.  Personally, if I was considering selling one of mine (not that it will happen anytime soon), I think I would rather it go to another Chordian who would appreciate it and give it a good home than hang it on some wall at a consignment shop.

I agree Doug.  Also I would trust buying from a member of Chordie before buying from Craigslist or Ebay.  In both the pen group and shaving group that I belong to they limit selling post to members who have 25 or more post and are not in the business.  It's for individuals not companies.  We have very few problems doing it that way.  I would like to see it given a try here.
