Topic: Coralina....Ark/Phill collaboration

Hi all
I had this chord progression with overlying melody for a while. I worked it up into another instrumental which I sent to Phill to see if he was interested in putting together some lyrics and singing them. I said the music reminded me of the Caribbean. Well he was (interested) and he came up with these great lyrics which fitted almost exactly what I had in mind and he sang them his usual professional way. As for the title it’s just a name…..  smile

Phill also added some acoustic guitar.

Hi Ark and Phill,

Great song and recording but no more than I would expect from two veterans like yourselves. The playback was somewhat marred by a siren going off three times but it was from MySpace not in your recording. A great collaboration guys.

Ark, now that you are Moderating this section I have some bad news for you..............you will have to learn ChoPro lol

Great call on your part Ark to bring Phill into this. Not only did he write some outstanding lyrics and his acoustic playing fit the piece to a tee but...as you know what I'm gonna say...great vocals.

Well Done. I really like this one alot. It reminds me of some 70's acoustic rock like America or Bread. Boy, that Phill really gets around; cheating on Russell eh?

Nice collaboration guys!  I love the smooth sounds from Ark and the guitar and voice from Phil.  Your two styles meld really well in this song.

Oh lovely happy sound.. Love the lyrics also.. Mysterious somewhat !

Pina colada, golden sand, sunshine, and a multi coloured Steel Drum band.  It held all the imagery of
the caribbean. So very well done  you 2.. take a bow, you deserve it.

for my part, i'd like to thank everybody. coralina was an easy song to put words to. it's funny how we were both on the same track content-wise with-out actually discussing what path we were taking.

i wrote the words, by the way, as an office dwellers day dream about his sailing yacht somewhere in the caribean...it's not about a woman or sex, though i guess a 30 foot yacht might be a bit of a babe-magnet?
