Topic: I need some GREAT "ON THE ROAD MUSIC" Do you have suggestions?

I'm going or coming to CANADA on 10 September 2010, and distances will be around 4000km.
(For the Canadians: Montreal, Quebec, Ottawa, Toronto and BC.)
A very great "BAND while driving is CCR.

WHAT ARE YOUR SUGGESTIONS?

- CCR
- DOOBIE BROTHERS
- LED ZEPPELIN = not typical, but ZZ-top?

CAN YOU PLEASE ADVISE ME? Compilations?

Deep Purple...especially Highway Star... Van Halen's 1st album...good traveling stuff. For something a littel more mellow...Grateful Dead Europe 72.

I used to be disgusted; now I try to be amused.

I usually grab some Bad Company and 38 Special when I hit the road. Don't know why but I've always traveled with that...

Golden Earring-Radar Love.... long song and works for me,       Mike

Our intuitions serve us well

Re: I need some GREAT "ON THE ROAD MUSIC" Do you have suggestions?

Sonny Terry @ Brownie MaGhee - " People Get Ready"  is road worthy.

                                         or

Dutch Mason - "Prime Minister of The Blues "    both great road music.

down that bluesy road,,,,   badeye   cool

I agree with you on CCR.  I like to listen to them on the road.  You have to watch the lead foot though.  You can be speeding without realizing it.

You can see all my video covers on http://www.youtube.com/bensonp1000
I have finally found happiness in my life.  Guitars, singing, beer and camping.  And they all intertwine wonderfully.

Your picks reminded me of a classic traveling blues song....Taj Mahal Leaving Trunk. If you can resist turning up the volume on that opening harp solo; you are all stronger then me

Allman Brothers Band is this posters favourite while out on the open road. The songs are generally long and hypnotic, both features make a long drive seem short. When I get close to my desired destination I'll throw in some AC/DC and crank it to the moon!!!

Give everything but up.

Re: I need some GREAT "ON THE ROAD MUSIC" Do you have suggestions?

A little "Born to be Wild" from Steppenwolf cranked got my tires burning.
Hey Doc...I'm only a two hour drive from TO if your looking for a stop over and some good Canadian beer. big_smile

Re: I need some GREAT "ON THE ROAD MUSIC" Do you have suggestions?

On long drives by myself, I grab every Little Feat cd.  Allman Bros is a good choice, too, Southpaw.  How about Derek & the Dominos.  Why not try some Canadians; Sarah MacLachlan, Loreena McKennitt, Joni, Neil, etc

Re: I need some GREAT "ON THE ROAD MUSIC" Do you have suggestions?

"Golden Gove" by Gove Scrivenor

We pronounce it "Guf Coast".
Ya'll wanna go down to the Guf?

Another gem...Little Feat Waiting for Columbus

Strange most songs are oldies. A great artist is Bob Dylan, but not for hours.
A little bit classic like IL DIVO and some METALLICA for a change.
- THE TROGGS
- I have BILLBOARD TOP 100 from 1959 up to 2002 but a great compilation from an already great compilation means work.

DO THEY CHECK YOUR CD.s at the border? Even your own copies from different CD s?
