I love the Traveling Wilbury's, especially that tune and "End of the line".
R.I.P. Roy Orbison, his vocals made that song and the band even better. And of course R.I.P. George Harrison.
Roy Orbison's last performances were with the Traveling Wilburys. He sounded good as ever and gave not a clue he was ill.
My first song I ever sang was "Crying" by Roy Orbison because it was high on the charts at the time. I was hired by a country bar band to play rhythm guitar and help out with some singing.
I had no idea how much effort it took to sing like Orbison. I soon found out that singing his stuff leaves you with you gonads in your watch pocket.

The sad part of Roy Orbison's death, was that he was having a resurgence in his career. Not only with the Traveling Wilbury's, but there was a tribute concert featuring himself, Bruce Springsteen, Elvis Costello, Bonnie Raitt and a whole host of others, paying tribute to Roy and his body of work. It's recorded, the concert was one heckuva jam session. But what struck me was the sheer love for the music and playing tunes that radiated out of Roy and everybody else on stage.
Oh well, he certainly went out on a high note. (pun intended) 
Yes, Roy was one of the best singers. He was good at throwing his voice up or down an octave with one chord. I agree with you, tuba, on the watch pocket theory.
