Topic: Is there such a thing???

I'm looking for a system that is more or less a kareeoke type program for guitar player/singers. Yuo would have a regular kareeoke type layout only difference being haveing the chord changes written above the words as they roll through the screen. This would allow us to play along with and sing. Changing the key would be a bonus.
Is there such a thing out there???

Never heard of it.  Why not get out your screwdrivers and invent one?

Granted B chord amnesty by King of the Mutants (Long live the king).

I wouldn't have a clue as to where to begin. This computer thing left me in the dust a long time ago. If any-one out there wants to take on the task, or has any ideas, or thoughts please be my guest!!!

Now that is something I wouldn't mind trying out for myself.  If you ever find one, let us know.  The internet has everything.  Do a lot of searches.  I might check into it also.
It seems they have guitar backing tracks for karaoke.  Check this out and see if it fills the bill.

I have finally found happiness in my life.  Guitars, singing, beer and camping.  And they all intertwine wonderfully.

There's a site SORT OF like this, but it's only for Beatles songs.  Check it out at http://www.beatlesite.info/

Me with my first ukulele, a Junior Beatles model, in 1966.  After Mom threw it down the stairs in a fit of rage, I became a drummer for life.  At age 43, I bought my second uke...

Hi All,

Similar to that Beatles play-along it reminded me of this site which has a Chord Finder tool (and Iphone app) as well as a Play Along feature

http://www.ukulele.nl/chordfinder.php

Hope this helps

Re: Is there such a thing???

songsterr.com has something similar to what you're talking about... although... it's tabs not chords.  Well... it's really the music written out and played so you can play along.  My husband and son think it's pretty cool... I'm into chords myself tho.  Have fun!

Re: Is there such a thing???

There use to be a product that Musiciansfriend handled and it was a Music stand with software to program lyrics and chords or tabs and you could scroll with it. I looked and they must not handle it anymore. It has been a couple yrs since I looked at it. It was expensive, if I remember right it was around $ 1000.

I will look and see if I have an old catalog and get the name and info from it .

Re: Is there such a thing???

Thanks for all the input . It looks like the uke site suggested by IUKEy is as close as I'm going to get. I'm don't have a web site and don't know if I can import from other sources to build on what is available there.  If IUKEy has any ideas on this I'll see them here.
