Topic: "The Dutchman"

Here's a video that I think is really nice by Ronny Cox , he does it little different than Steve Goodman. I just assumed for years that Steve Goodman had wrote this song and it was on his 1973 Somebody Else's Troubles  Album . Michael Smith wrote the song .  "The Dutchman" and "Hello in There  by John Prine are my 2 favorite songs of all time and they take turns at #1

If Ronny looks familiar , he was the guitar player in the movie  Deliverence.

I like that, wlbaye.  And I did recognize him from deliverance.  Now if we can only find the banjo player.

You can see all my video covers on http://www.youtube.com/bensonp1000
I have finally found happiness in my life.  Guitars, singing, beer and camping.  And they all intertwine wonderfully.

Re: "The Dutchman"

I don't know about that one bensop, cause that kid was kinda scary lookin. Watched that clip Wlbaye and liked it alot. Mr.Cox reminds me of another actor but just can't figure who it is?    Mike

Wonderful!

I so wish you could hear my Dutch brother -in-law sing and play this song. He has an amazing voice.

BensonP as for that creepy banjo player !! Heavens preserve us. I had nightmares about him.

Re: "The Dutchman"

Nice link Wayne,
I've always liked Ronnie Cox's style. I can't remember the name of the TV show he was on but it was a newer version of the Waltons where he played his guitar  every now and then.

Thanks for the link.

Re: "The Dutchman"

Ronnie Cox was in a ton of movies...Total Recall, Robo-Cop, Deliverance...OK, please no more Deliverance talk, the Ned Beatty thing still haunts!!!!!!!!

I used to be disgusted; now I try to be amused.
