Re: Neil Young, Tonight Show Friday Night

I think friday is Conan Obrian's last night as the tonight show host Jay Leno takes over as host NBC had to settle with Conan for around a mere 44 mill smile

Re: Neil Young, Tonight Show Friday Night

I hear ABC is considering a late night spot the same time as Jay Leno and David Letterman for Conan but from what I read on Road Runner he cant do anything till September BUT that clause could be circumnavigated by his lawyers and money smile

Re: Neil Young, Tonight Show Friday Night

What a shame.  Unemployment just keeps getting worse and worse.

They ought to put Craig Ferguson on in that spot.  I think maybe he works for CBS.  Still, he's more entertaining than the rest of the late night folks combined.  Don't believe me, just check out his monologues on Youtube.  Even when he's being sincere, he's entertaining.

Re: Neil Young, Tonight Show Friday Night

I watched the last show and Neil's performance lent a sadness and finality to what has been building since the news of Conan's forthcoming departure it was a moment that couldn't help but touch everyone who viewed this program "long may you run' great song and a fitting tribute smile

Re: Neil Young, Tonight Show Friday Night

I agree, russell.  There coudn't have been a better person to add a tribute.

Re: Neil Young, Tonight Show Friday Night

That 44mill is for Conan and his 75+ employees, allegedly.........

Conan, in this posters opinion got royally bamboozled. That performance of "Freebird"at the end of his last show( friday January 22, 2010) with Will Ferrell, Ben Harper, Billy Gibbons, Beck, Conan himself on guitar, and Max Weinburgh with the Tonight Show Band was very moving, it wasn't that great musically( wasn't that bad either) but it was an epic way to go out in superb, splendid, sensational, in-yo-face style!

Neil Young played a very moving, touching, solo acoustic version of " Long May You Run". He then thanked Conan for introducing new music to the public.

Jay Leno had his day, but currently is lame, very lame. NBC will regret this move as well.

Co Co is cool!!!

Give everything but up.

Re: Neil Young, Tonight Show Friday Night

Interesting to read the comments about Craig Ferguson. We don't see much of him over here in his home country but I believe he is doing alright for himself. He started out as a young Scottish comedian who went by the stage name of Bing Hitler. Very funny and very, very sweary. I was going to post a link to youtube but I'll leave that for you to discover for yourself, if you're of the mind to.

I'll need to check out the Tonight Show for the Young appearance. I've become a bit of a fan recentely. I know, I'm a late developer.
