Hi kenny
Watching the vid just got me thinking what would happen if the guy's leg or foot happen to get in the way of the jet of water an instant shredding of the non guitar type comes to mind   lol
Still looks like a lot fun err maybe....

Yeah, baby, yeah!  That is a dream for all of us and it will come true in the coming years, minus the fire hose attachment.  I've always wanted to hang glide, but never got around to it.  Maybe some day.  It is a little dream of mine.  I know, just get off my butt and do it.  Maybe I will.

Oh heck yes.  In a minute.  I am well past young and immortal, but middle-aged and broken down I would do that.  Perhaps that's how I got to be broken down.  Nevertheless, I'd do it.   My 45th is coming up next year and I've been thinking "hang gliding", but that looks like a possibility too.

I guess I just need to find someone like you to do it with me, Zurf.  Then maybe, just maybe.

My buddy Jim Beam used to get me into the worst of that kind of trouble, but he stays home now.

That's another one for the Bucket List...Handgliding. Good for you bensonp. I do believe I'd kill myself if I tried that but it would just about be worth it. I've been lucky enough to Scuba Dive in very cool places, I took flying lessons and got to take off, fly and land a little cessna but it wouldn't compare to handgliding. big_smile

Re: I would do this in a heartbeat :D

There's a place in the Outer Banks of North Carolina where they do an introduction to hang-gliding class on a humongous sand dune.  There's constant wind, and if you wipe out it's in deep, soft sand.  Tough to get hurt.  I wouldn't jump off a huge cliff on the first run.  Well, actually I would.  The first time I ever rapelled, it was on a 230ft cliff that required a kick off and a rapid descent into a cave about 2/3 down.  Kind of stupid, but I did have fun.

Scuba diving scares the snot out of me.  Wouldn't do it.  Well, maybe I would...

Re: I would do this in a heartbeat :D

Wehn I think of hang gliding, it is always running down a gently sloping hil and flying a few feet off the ground.  None of that 2000 foot mountain jumps.  But it would be a rush.

That looks like so much fun.
I'm stupid enough to try that-no questions asked.

Re: I would do this in a heartbeat :D

I'd love to try that also - looks like a blast. Bungee jumping is another thing that I would love to do. I have done a bit of hang gliding (at Kitty Hawk - no mountains for me), I also had 5 parachute jumps many years ago. Here's a few pics of my 1st jump.

The plane was a 1950's something Cessna - Looks safer to jump out of than land in. You had to crawl out of door, put 1 foot on the metal "step" over the wheel and hold onto the wing strut while going 120 mph at 3,000 feet until the jump master yelled "Jump"

Re: I would do this in a heartbeat :D

I took a parachute rigger course in the Marine Corps. At the completion of the course they had us pack three chutes. They chose the worst looking one of the three and had us jump with it.
Mine opened nicely.
Topdown, I know what you mean about the smile that lasts all day.

Re: I would do this in a heartbeat :D

One would have to pry my hands and legs off the seat and throw me out the door of a plane to get me to parachute... I think I'd be lucky if I was still alive when I hit the ground... if so, chances are excellent that I'd need a change of pants.  OMG!  First thing that comes to mind with that "toy" is ... what if he tips too far backwards with it going?  LOL!  I'm a mom to the end!

Re: I would do this in a heartbeat :D

I'd love to watch all of you doing your rush jumps and gliding and bungee jumps, but i'll stay on the ground thank you. I worked in a coal mine 4 miles under the ocean and I"ve worked roofing at crazy hieghts, I'm staying on the ground two footed.  lol. With my luck a rope would break, chute failure, hand glider blows up, bungee too long, you know what I mean.   cool thread

Re: I would do this in a heartbeat :D

There's things I'd do and there's things I wouldn't do.  Roofing at crazy heights and coal mining under the ocean count as two of the latter.  Everyone's got his or her own window on the world.
