Re: Grass In Your Hair
Hi Phill,
What a very sad song."
" Grass in your hair, leaves in the pockets of your coat".
Very revelatory i feel. Yes i get a feeling of lovers probably young. Grass in my own hair back then ? Maybe [ to far back to remember ] but leaves i still have from one time in between the leaves of books..
Lovely piece Phill. I looked to see was it up on myspace , but no joy yet.
Ill check again soon.
Old Doll.
Re: Grass In Your Hair
hi phill pluckin at the heart strings there,a lot of thoughts and emotions, great song......stay cool
Re: Grass In Your Hair
hi peeps,
i guess it is a sad song, it's about a couple [young?] one feels their thing has run it's course [the chorus part...i'd like this part done by a female singer...too shy to ask] and the verses are the male part...or vice versa. the guy finds grass in the girls hair and naturally suspects the girl of cheating, which she may have been, but she wants out of the relationship any-way so there you go!
grass in your hair was the part that started the song off, i had been strumming a few chords, and the line came to me. the rest was a natural progression suggested by that line.
i have put it on my web page [myspace] so please have another look.
thanks for all your great comments

Hi Phill
Most excellent in all respects. Lyrics music and recording.
I was listening for instrumental break in the middle somewhere but hey what do I know..
Great stuff as always.
thanks for sharing
ark
Ps Phill I've being listening to your myspace songs there seem to be some new ones there.
all good..
Re: Grass In Your Hair
hi ark,
thought about it, but it was a little on the long side. i'm not the greatest soloist anyway, so it would have been a little pretentious and most likely naff.
ps, if i ever get `round to recording it professionally i'll give you a shout...

Re: Grass In Your Hair
I have three words Phill,
Wow and Wow.
This is an excellent composition from start to finish. I really love the base line. This has a Moody Blues feel to it and that is a very good thing.
5 thumbs up.
You do good work my friend.
It's been awhile since I've been online and visited your site...I see you have been busy writing. I'll be back to hear more as I'm just reacquainting myself with my puter.
By the By... I met a couple from Wales that have been in Canada for two years. They are real nice folks and it was a real pleasure. They are from Ponty Pridd??? and they also lived in Penafth??? near Cardiff.
I'm reading this off the note they gave me,their names are Teish? and Sahirn? It's hard to read it but the upshoot was they are a cool couple and I said I would say BOO to you, so from my new friends.....BOO.
Let me know if you know the area.

Re: Grass In Your Hair
Love this one Phil. Really good song. It came across well written down but came across fantastically in the recording.
Great job sir. Excellent work. Love the fact that you record your work too. I never get the melody or phrasing right in my head so hearing someone's songs really helps me out.
Good stuff.

Re: Grass In Your Hair
thanx for your comments,
it's a funny thing, but once i've finished writing and recording a song, i tend to forget about it! so it's nice to be able to go back to myspace or soundclick and hear the songs again.
it's a strange feeling, i know i wrote them, but they sound like they belong to someone else....it must be old-age creeping up on me
