Topic: Its a Goddamn Shame

First I know this is a family forum so if the title is offensive let me know and I will change it. big_smile
I am doing a collab with wlbaye on this and I wasn't going to post it until I had it recorded but for reasons unsaid I'm having a tough time doing my end. Hopefully posting it will help kick start me.
This is done tongue and cheek in a John Prine style. All capital letters is speaking and picking.

hi kenny,

this is a truly well written and thought out song. are they your words or wlbaye's? i cant normally picture a song from just reading someone else's words, but i do get a nice melody line from this with an easy country bass line and beat.

i cant wait till you've recorded it...let us know when it's done.

The lyrics in this didn't really happen, but there was a time thirty some odd years back, we were partying at the beach drinking a few cold ones and feeding the gulls. This one gull hovered 10' above me and let one go. It was a bullseye right in my beer bottle...Nothing but net...It was a great shot. lol Needless to say we stopped feeding the birds. lol

Yup they're my lyrics as Wayne posted earlier. Waynes style of picking is perfect for this song. I just hope I can get my act together to do his playing justice. He bought the same Cubase with a different interface so I'm praying he will learn me something. big_smile
We had a dusting of snow that melted by 10 AM. It's above seasonal here but one day rain, next day sun, next day wind.... makes no fun. big_smile

Hi Ark,
There's gonna be a big learning curve for me going from Audacity to Cubase ( Heck I still haven't figured out Audacity)...It could take awhile. lol I'm not sure if the narration makes it too long of a song or not but time will tell. Hopefully it'll be a goodun. big_smile

Kenny this looks good!  Wayne's style will be perfect for it!  I can't wait to hear it!  I think the title is fitting, I wouldn't change it.  You've made it clear that if it offends anyone HERE that you'll adjust, so I'm sure if they're offended they'll let ya know!
