This song is apparently by "Peter, Paul & Mary". It is featured in the film "Airplane" (the bit with the heart-transplant girl; the woman playing ROJ on guitar gets carried away and knocks all the poor girl's drip-tubes etc <img src="images/smiley_icons/icon_lol.gif" border=0 alt="Laughing"> )
Anyway, the lyrics are easy enough to find with a quick google, but struggling with chords/tab....
Please help if you can!

Hello robjungle - I am also unable to locate the chords for this classic - seems odd since this song was quite popular in PP&M's heyday. I did find that it appears in many folk songbook collections. Check the holdings at your local library and some of these songbooks may be on their shelves. James

As one of PP&M's biggest fans this posting has had me baffled for a while. At one time, until a theft, I had every one of PP&M's LPs and every published Songbook and I cannot for the life of me remember a song called River of Jorden.
But the line bugged me, I suddenly thought 'The river Jorden is mighty and wide Hallelujah' which is the line from a song and not the title. If I am right you want "Michael Row The Boat Ashore" and you will find it at:

Roger, the song is definitely called "River of Jordan", I've found the lyrics on the net, but bizarrely the chords don't seem to be anywhere on the net.

Roger, I'm sure you will recognize the song - and I'm betting that the chords are pretty basic.
I was in our local library recently and checked the many songbooks they have available . . . sadly, this was not in any of them. But seriously, go to your local library and see what they have on the shelves - our library has quite a nice collection of folk, gospel, traditional, Broadway, and other songbooks (many of them seem to have been donated).

The music is available in a songbook that is still in print 'Peter Paul and Mary - Around the Campfire' Published by either Warner Bros Publishing or Alfred Publishing and the stock number is 0260B. It appears to be around $17.00 in America so even with postage you will have change.
