Pretty cool, Russ. I like the way your vocals came out sounding.
Thanks Selso I wrote it a few hours ago and laid all the tracks I used the on board effects on my Boss BR-8 for everything but first I laid the tracks in the loopstation one at a time rhythm, bass, and rhythm guitar and it was premixed and sent in on two tracks then I added two keyboard tracks, vocal a lead guitar I used a Digitec vocalist to produce the harmonies and lead vocal with a foot switch to bounce between lead vocal and harmony all in all I used 8 tracks but actually more like 12 because 4 of the tracks were mixed as 2 in stereo I did the final mix adjusting the eq's and panning with a touch of delay on the lead guitar
Hey...that one sort of sounds like "Dire Straits"...the band not the situation of course!!
Geo if it sounds like Dire Straits its not intended but I like the group Mark Knopfler is one excellent guitarist
As are you Sir
Great song Russell,Life is a bitch,But some times special things happen, sounds a bit like "Dire Straits" But that's not a bad thing.
Trevor
Thanks Trevor I really dont try to sound like anyone, when I started composing this it was just a beat with a bass added with a rhythm guitar I used the pads in conjuntion with the pattern on my alesis to give it a little more realism and bounce after listening to it I composed the lyrics then added the keyboards what came out was a modal feel and the vocals were based on this and the lead guitar part kind of fell along

Hey Russ...:)
Did any one ever tell you that your style is similar to Dire Straits...I can hear it in this song. That's one of the cool things about listening to your tunes.....Your flexibility.
Listening to your tunes is like a box of chocola....You know what I'm gonna say.
The sign of an artist is versatility.
I be liking this one to-o-o.
Kenny
kenny it has been mentioned I really appreciate your comments even the Forrest Gump I have been kicking a few ideas around and looking forward to putting them on wax thanks again

I appreciate your comments daddycool I write in a few genres because I enjoy most of them I layered the tracks and didn't have this in mind from the beginning it kind of shaped itself but I'm pleased with the outcome
Hi Russ
Just had a listen to your lastest one. Strangely "Dire Straits" doesn't spring to mind
It's really well mixed all the parts are well balanced. I think your recording has improved alot over the years I've listened to your music (weren't bad to start with though:))...
Your a true artist..
Well done
ark
Thank you Ark I guess after a while somethings start to fall into place and mixing is as you know a large part of a song I have to agree about the Dire Straits comparison but others have indicated I do but as ctech has said thats not a bad thing I am moving in a direction musically that seems to be natural for me so I aint gonna fight it just roll with it and see where it leads me
