Topic: Info on how to make my own songbook

I'm an acoustic guitar player from way back and have used Chordie to get lyrics and chords to my favorite songs.  Being on dial-up (stinks)  I've printed them all out, then rewrote the chords on a lot of them by hand.  Hey, I'm 54 now (no, can't be)

It's a lot easier for me when the whole song (verses and each chorus, bridge etc) has the chords above them.  I'm just wondering how to make my own songbook with my changes (which I think people will LIKE) without putting existing songs from Chordie in my online songbook then having to retype each chord again from my book.

My real songbook is so heavy I can hardly carry it.  Do you have a fax machine? LOL I've got everything from the Beatles (of course my fav) to Nickelback, Blackhawk, The Drifters, Tom Jones, Rod Stewart, Otis Redding, Mamas and the Papas, Brad Paisley, Tom Petty, Journey, Restless Heart, Billy Joel, Carpenters, CCR, Bread, Badfinger, Steve Miller, Everly Brothers, OK....I'm not even half way through the book.

Any ideas on an easy way to do this?

Hey, Roz. I moved your topic in here so that someone with more know-how will have a better chance of seeing it. There used to be an edit option on all the songs on the index, which allowed you to chop and change as you wished, but this has had to be removed because of technical problems. It's a bummer but there's not much we can do but trust the site admin to do his best to keep the site alive. As it is I can only suggest copying and pasteing into word, or something similar, and then re-jigging it in that.

There no way to alter songs in your songbook without the edit function sorry..
But there's a nice appp. at http://webchord.sourceforge.net/ which alows you copy paste your song from Chordie for editing and then converting to Chopro format that can be saved to your hard drive.
The songs in your songbook can be reverted back to plain text by pressing the "Chopro" button on the right of the screen so they can be copied and then pasted in to apps for editing at sourceforge..

Thanks for your input - that edit button would have been sooo much easier.  Right now I copy then paste the whole song in an e-mail to myself, change the font, insert more lines to type the chords.  Time consuming but I still didn't know how to convert to the Chopro format.  Thanks again for getting back to me so soon.

I need help! I have made a personal songbook which i left open as i was going to come back to it. Now it tells me that my songbook has "crashed" and needs to be repaired. I have tried to login and out again but other than than am not sure how to
rectify this..am very frustrated! any help would be appreciated. thanks.

Hi lilyrosemary and welcome to Chordie,

If you read the thread 'SQL error' you will see that others, including me, are having the same problem. There appears to be a bug and Per, the webmaster, has been informed to try and sort this out.
