Re: Introduction

Glad to meet you, Torquil.  Your story sounds like so many of ours.  I, too, started guitar many years ago and played for a year then put it away for 15-20 years and picked it up again.  Pretty typical, I guess.  Life gets in the way sometimes.

You can see all my video covers on http://www.youtube.com/bensonp1000
I have finally found happiness in my life.  Guitars, singing, beer and camping.  And they all intertwine wonderfully.

Re: Introduction

So many of us are picking up for the second time. Much better this time around. Loving it. Good to see you here.

Is anything really made up of zeros and ones??

Re: Introduction

thanks Guys
I put it down to mid life crisis.
First a Hohnor Blues harmonica just appeared at my house one day and
at 41 years old I thought long and hard about my life and the only true regret I had was not keeping up with .
my Guitar playing and music in general.
So I learned a few songs on the harp and bought myself a Soprano Ukulele (cheap but fun..will get a better one now)
then I just got myself an accoustic guitar.
I have also found a love for mandolin and banjo..so they are next on the list.
I find playing very thereputic and spiritual and will never put down the instruments again.
Life begins at 40
have a great day guys
Torquil

Re: Introduction

Sounds familiar.

I have in my basement right now within an arms reach or a short walk to the other side of the room two electric basses, a clasical guitar, a folk guitar, a fiddle, an autoharp, and a Crown Royal sack full of harmonicas.  I didn't get serious about it until around 35, so I'm a little ahead of you.

Welcome Aboard Torquil!

Some things are just better the second time around.  It's that 20/20 hindsight thing I guess, but life can get in the way and it sure is nice to have the time to find your way back to something that will give back so much personal satisfaction.  Not to mention a whole lot less expensive than Therapy!
