Topic: ADDENDUM CRACKED HEAD + NECK & BODY
I had a crack on my gibson hummingbird, went to my luthier who fixed it (use professional blend). and you must have very sharp eyes to see the line. I had 2pieces= headstock & neck + body.
Worse: A hole or a big crack in the body or the sides. What are the criteria you use (and I noticed that there are more than one luthier here) to REPAIR a guitar like this, and repair it, so well that you have difficulties to see the reparation?
Why this addendum: I have a MARTIN D45V and while in hospital she went at my place to take this guitar. (reason=too expensive)
I don't know what went wrong but in the GUITAR SIDE was a "hole & crack"
Luthier ---> must go to Martin for repair, no replacement by new side on the body, so repair.
PRICE: 2200$!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, probably covered by insurance.
I wrote this in an "ADDENDUM" because head - neck - body are discussed here.
The price is high because the guitar had to go back to the USA. NOBODY HERE WANTS TO REPAIR OF A "FORTUNE" guitar. SO PROTECT THEM ALL.
WHAT ABOUT THE VALUE? I payed 5000$ at GRUHN, here in my musicstore she goes over the 11.000$, a sad day. What can I do? going back to the US? I don't think so.
it was a difficult decision, for that money you have a new one, but no D45V
- MY GUITAR PLAYS EVERY STYLE = BLUES, ROCK, METAL, so I NEED TO LEARN HOW TO PLAY IT.
