Help!! Missing words in Slim Dusty's song Camooweal

Please can somebody shed light on what the words are in the fourth verse of Slim Dusty's song Camooweal. A search on the internet shows the words below but when watching and listening to his DVD these words do not sound at all correct and do not make any sense:

You've told me you've been met now distant days.

Your quick response would be greatly appreciated as we want to do this number at a gig
