Haven't posted anything in ages, for two reasons. Not written anything in a while and also, I got a new laptop and haven't been able to record a darned thing. Very annoying.
I've downloaded a copy of audacity which will get me by, but the quality isn't great. However, when you get an idea you have to get it down...as I'm sure many of you will know.
A rough copy of the song is on my Myspace now, any comments etc very welcome.
Cheers,
Mark
Good stuff Mark! Listening to your "raw" recording I felt as if I was hangin' out with you in the living room as you played and sang. My hat is off to you for a job well done. Too little is always better than too much, in my humble opinion........
Peace and Guitars,

hi mark a good start to your return ,great lyrics well done....stay cool
Guys, thanks for your comments. Much appreciated as ever.
Just to let anyone who's interested, I've now recorded a "cleaner" version of this. Just dusted off the old laptop and off I went. Bit of a process, but hopefully worth it.
I've uploaded the newer version onto my Myspace page. I think it sounds ten times better but have a listen and let me know whatever you think. It's aaaaall good!!
Great song. I like the last verse. Just gave a listen and ,man, thats good. I really like your voice. Id agree the whole thing sounds ten times better. Now if I could just get mine to sound that good
Selso
Thanks a lot Selso. Much appreciated.
Good to see you back up and running Mark
I enjoyed the flow and lyrics on this one and I'll echo selso on your last verse.
Nice writing.
Kenny
Kenny, thanks a lot.
Interesting development on this one actually. A guy who runs acoustic nights in a nearby club has heard this song on my Myspace page and has asked me to play at his club night. He's given me the option of a few dates too. I think it may actually happen!! Wooooo!
Anyway, sorry for the forum hog guys. Couldn't wait to share the news.
Intensive practice begins in the A.M!!!!
Good to hear Good news anytime Mark
Practice, practice and have a blast. Don't forget to post up how it went in Southpaws thread.
Kenny

Way to go...
I'm Hope it will all go well for you.
Well done
ark
the last two lines sum-up the song,
there's no escape
no-body wins.
it makes you wonder why we play these games, your song rings very true, well written and observed.
phill
Thanks Phil (and you Ark & kenny) much appreciated. It's brilliant when something you write strikes a chord with someone, so thank you for your kind comment.
Maybe confirmation I'm not mad after all......
Hi Mark,
It has been a while but the wait was worth it. Great song from you and excellent that you have been asked to perform it. Be sure to let us know how it goes.
Roger
How do all. sorry for bringing an older topic back to the top but I've now recorded a (slightly different, hopefully better) version of this for youtube. I'd love to hear what you guys think if you get the chance to have a look. link below. Cheers,

"I'm done, done done, done with you and me,
So you can think of me when you're with him!"

A good couplet like that can make a song .......
.....Oh yeah, it has!
Good on yer Mark!
PS: Will check out the audio when there aren't people trying to sleep!!!
Really nice Mark.
I just watched your, you tube .
I like all the words, the story line has relative meaning to everyone I'm sure. I like the melody and your strumming. But most of all I like the performance of the song. FINE JOB!! fine vocals
You'll do well at the acoustic night performance
Your getting gooder...much gooder.
Kudos Mark, you really look comfortable playing and singing which in turn opens up the song that much more.
Looking forwards to your next song.
Kenny
