Re: Is Chordie Safe!!!

Norton is not always smart, I guess.  All I know is that I've been coming here for a long time and have never had a problem.  Interesting though.

Re: Is Chordie Safe!!!

I've never had problems either but if you notice the threats are on certain songs! Maybe someone should take a deeper look just incase or bring it up up to someone a little bit further up the ladder!!

Re: Is Chordie Safe!!!

The threat may be coming from the host site that the song is on. Chordie does not hosts the songs it just displays them.

Re: Is Chordie Safe!!!

river,
see things such as norton etc, they might say a lot of things are not safe because it does not recognise them. It might tell you some cookies are not safe but there will be nothing wrong with them.

Re: Is Chordie Safe!!!

I'm not much on these computers but, is it possible that one person could have went to all of the above links and that that person has a virus or problem on their computer? I have no idea if that's even possible, but if so can we find out who and let him/her know?

Re: Is Chordie Safe!!!

Good Point aabb, what if chordie's not the problem but, a user's computer is infected and once they linked onto chordie he or she may have inadvertently brought over a virus or virus's. I feel safe at chordie though, because I have antivrus and spyware, but these people making these virus' are coming up with new ways to spread the virus's all over the place. To all my chordians make sure your computer's are up to date with your virus and spyware protection. Peace.

Re: Is Chordie Safe!!!

Way back when we first got computerized, we had Norton/Symantec and we had some irritating problems, unpredictable scanning times, really slow access and weird stuff, etc.  When we got an upgrade, the computer store we had doing the job, warned us that Norton/Symantec was a program that they would not garauntee.  So we got AVG security systems and there have been no problems since.   The computer people we deal with have nothing good to say about norton.

Re: Is Chordie Safe!!!

I've been using Norton for years and when I changed computers I switched to McAfee just for a change.  Maybe it was a good move.

Re: Is Chordie Safe!!!

I get the same thing. The owner of chordie can sign up at Norton and have them re-evaluate. I would suggest doing this, because getting a "bad site" rating on Norton (deserved or not) is a bad thing. The Norton sight link for information on how to get this cleared up is: http://safeweb.norton.com/help/site_owners

Re: Is Chordie Safe!!!

When I got this PC it had Norton already installed. I ended up taking it off completely and switching to another because it found fault with EVERYTHING. Such a pain in the neck. It was impossible to browse the net because norton wouldn't let me view ANYTHING.

Re: Is Chordie Safe!!!

What is this supposed to mean. If you didn't like what I posted or you thought it was funny you didn't have to post anything! I was only showing my concern because I've had a bad experience with a virus(until I got Norton Internet Security) and I don't wish anyone go through the hassle of trying to get rid of it and the costs of taking care of this problem. The only thing we can do is make sure our security is up to date and working. Good Luck!!             (binclintonusa)!!!!

Lets all chill  and play some tunes, then kick back and mellow out with a favorite beverage.

Now, we should all hug and sing "Kum bay Yah".  ; )

Yeah, we got hit by one, just as we were having the new set up built.  So when we gave them the old tower and hard drive we could warn them and they managed to get it.

I have this fantasy of having a program that defends my computer by detecting a virus and then sending it back to the source.  The only difference, is my program would cause the jerks computer to explode while they were sitting at it.

Yeah, it's violent, but, it would certainly cut down on hackers!  <evil grin>

I like that, a permanent feature of the jerks computer that delivers the shock every time they try to develop a virus or do an illegal hack.  AND the shocks increase in intensity each time.

I have to admit violent fantasies are very good for relieving stress!!

Re: Is Chordie Safe!!!

I agree just picturing the smoke coming off of his hair from each shock is making me giggle! Am I sick or is this hackers justice!!!

I used to have a button that said, "Your perverted, twisted and sick.......I like that in a person."
