i have a capo chart that shows what chord to play to get a different key
"c"position capoed second fret gives you a "d" chord

thats a nice gesture! But most guitar players already know what position the capo goes in for what chord. thanks anyway

I see that this is your first posting on the forum so welcome to Chordie.
Although many of the members here are accomplished players and will have no need of this chart, there will also be newcomers to guitar playing here that will find it helpful.

Hey buddy. Please excuse bigdjindustriez. He's a professional <img src="images/smiley_icons/icon_rolleyes.gif" border=0 alt="Rolling Eyes"> (just ask him he will tell you). I for one think it's great that you took the time to do that for us. A lot of musicians here don't feel that they know everything there ever will be to know and enjoy the chance to learn from others on the site. And as a side note I really don't like the idea of discouraging a post from anyone especially a newbie. Anyway thanx again for the chart and feel free to post anything els that might be helpfull because if you had to learn it then chances are somebody els still needs to. <img src="images/smiley_icons/icon_cool.gif" border=0 alt="Cool">

Most regular users of this resource exhibit both poise and maturity. Most regular users of this resource understand that this is a place where musicians can go to find useful information.
Most regular users of this site are sufficiently self-confident that they do not feel the need to belittle other users with snide and unproductive commentary. Most regular users of this resource come here to share their love of music.
Unfortunately, a few forum participants exhibit immature attitudes and anti-social behavior that would start a bar fight in any local tavern on the planet. Perhaps these users will eventually learn to behave in a more civil and productive manner. Perhaps they will find another forum more suited to their self-perceived expertise.
Your capo chart is no doubt a very useful reference. I once created a Circle-of-Fifths transposing tool on an Excel spreadsheet. Through the process of creating the transposing chart, I gained a much more thorough understanding of the structure and uses of the Circle of Fifths.
Congratulations for having the initiative and curiosity to create such a tool. It is this sort of 'spark' that drives a musician to discover more about how to make music. It is this sort of spark that drives the creative process.
I know this has been rather wordy, but I felt the need to express these thoughts in a well-reasoned and articulate manner. Again, welcome to chordie!

we all started some where and had questions i enjoy opening doors to help others play
i play music two seperate places every week and jam twice a week and play in several nursing homes.
all for fun not money
at several jams i found that beginers did not understand the use for the capo (i really do not need it) but it helps others play along
i also play dobro and guitar mandolin and a little on the keyboard strum stix tenor bango and guitar i haven tried the steel guitar yet but when i retire i might give it a try

That sounds like an excellent tool to help you learn closed chord shapes and scale theory. You should see if you can make it available on a web site somewhere.
Please excuse "american chaos theory" for trying to be a bigshot. I Never referred to myself as a professional, maybe one time, jokingly. I Actually said in my post "thats a nice gesture!" so obviously I wasn't criticizing you. Maybe you can attach the capo chart to a posting. Thanks for your enthusiam to help others.
