Hi Russ,
If I see you some time, some place, I'll run up to you, give you a big hug and say; "I'm so glad to meet you at last..."
This appears to me to be your personal story, of-course mine runs along the same kind of track, naturally I don't sing or play as good as you, but it never stopped me trying!
I am going to give this a listen, but knowing your work and the quality of your recordings and writing, it'll be another classic.
Talk soon bro
Phill
Just had a listen, and I knew it, brillient! Very Dylanesque, my friend, very likeable and playable, another triumph ***** [that's 5 stars not swearing]
Russ
This is a great acoustic number one of your best in my humble opinion. Lots of feeling...
all round most excellent...
Well done
ark
Phill I hope someday we will meet im sure we would have many stories to tell each other, this song was written on the spur of the moment all I had was a few chord changes I liked the D/F# to G, and the G chord has a D on top (2nd string 3rd fret) so the change form one to the other was made without moving my 3rd finger and it is kind of a bio of my musical life and the lyrics just came easy and natural thank you my friend for the nice comments some day we will jam a few tunes if the creek dont rise and the good lords willing
Ark its good to hear your opinion as I respect your music and we have been cyber friends for about a year and shared projects together and they were always of the highest quality thank you
This is a really pretty song 8)
Your very talented

Well Done, Sir. Another excellent number
Thank you geo I had some fun with this it was recorded with a live feel useing two mic.s a Sm57 for the acoustic and a Sm58 (sure) for vocals I just fed them into a small 4 channel mixer and into the vocal input on my BR-8 its a simple easy way to get a nice recording
Well Done, Sir. Another excellent number

Hey Russel!
Second listen as I write. I can relate!
Superbly written! Superbly performed! Superbly recorded! (LOVE the warm sound on the lows and the jangle on the highs of your guitar and just enough 'verb on your vox and perfectly mixed together! (What condenser did you use for guitar and vox?))
AND, you son of a ........................ gun, you put a lump in my throat!!!!!
Seasick Steve didn't get there 'til late in his life and I think there is no difference in the quality of your outputs! - you're already a STAR!
(end of 3rd listen)
as Mustard!
Hey Russ - I like it - Life is kind of funny the roads it takes you down. I'm very grateful it brought you to chordie. I had trouble with that D/F# at first but I think I figured it out (barre part way across the 2nd fret?).
kaJiMa the guitar and vocals were recorded flat from the camera no effects used on the video the recording on my songplayer I used a sm-58 on vocals and a sm-57 to mic the acoustic both tracks were recorded at the same time with a little reverb on vocal and guitar glad you liked the it, I've watched a few seasick steve videos and enjoyed his singing thanks again
Thank you Jeff I'm glad I found Chordie sure a lot of great people here and however you find it easy to make that chord is ok ive been playing it a long time with my thumb so its just easy that way I just play a regular d chord and use my thumb but whichever works is fine

I gotta agree with everyone on this one Russ. :-)
This is definitely a topnotch song. It has a great feel and message. The D/F# to G has a really unique sound the way you strum it. I'd watch the vid but for some reason it's not coming up.
"Two Thumbs Up" from me.
Kenny
Thanks Kenny its been a while since we touched base I hope all is well with you and yours I also have this on my player on myspace the video is a little different but not that much drop me an email when you get a chance and thanks again for your comment
