Topic: Eric's Song
I am in college and a terrible accident happened in the dorm right next to me. A student fell out of a 4th story window. I was shocked by the incident and felt like I needed to get my thoughts out. Here is what it turned into. It's very easy, plain, and simple. The verses are played by slowly picking the 5th,4th,3rd, and 2nd strings before each line. The chorus and bridge are strummed.
Verse 1
Cadd9
I never knew his last name
G
Till it crossed that tv screen
Cadd9
Why’d it have to choose him?
G
Easily could have been me
Cadd9
Happens every day
G
For every new written song
Cadd9
What a world we live in
G
Never know when its gone
Chorus
Em7
The world stops in a moment
Cadd9
Words lost are never found
Em7
Life got so simple
Cadd9
The moment he hit the ground
Verse 2
Cadd9
What crime did he make
G
What error caused him to fall
Cadd9
Did he rob a blind man
G
Or did he just walk down the hall
Cadd9
Was it a last resort
G
Or was it just all in fun
Cadd9
Oh it sounds so crazy
G
For someone so very young
Chorus
Em7
The world stops in a moment
Cadd9
Words lost are never found
Em7
Life got so simple
Cadd9
The moment he hit the ground
Bridge:
Em7
I wonder if he prayed
Cadd9
I wonder where he will end up
Em7
How it goes by so fast
Cadd9
With us never looking up
Verse 3:
Cadd9
I’m sure I’ll get back to normal
G
Fill my head with work and tests
Cadd9
But I never will forget
G
The night my heart beat out my chest
Cadd9
Life is not for granted
G
It ends without even a sign
Cadd9
So make each day a memory
G
And never waste an ounce of time
