Topic: A MEMBER LEAVES THE BAND.

I don't think it's very funny when 4-5 friends decided to create a band.
HERE A QUESTION:
- Fair play? If every song is written by the band and not by, let's say Lennon/McCartney.
It must be frustrating to have written a couple of fantastic numbers like SOMETHING, and yes George got finally recognition and respect his talent.
I believe that his first record was far more popular than the records of both others: John Lennon, Paul McCartney.
I REALLY HAVE A LOT OF ADMIRATION FOR GEORGE, PROBABLY THE MOST UNDERRATED MUSICIAN EVER.
All musicians are expendable, but what about the singer?
- sometimes they become more popular see Genesis and in particular Phil Collins
- sometimes worse, see Dave Lee Roth leaving Van Halen
- sometimes a lot of discussions see AC/DC

WHAT IS YOUR OPINION HERE?

- MY GUITAR PLAYS EVERY STYLE = BLUES, ROCK, METAL, so I NEED TO LEARN HOW TO PLAY IT.

Don't shout phil! we hear yer lol  ... its probably the "front man" gets all the glory phil.... and as for the musicians well it takes a real lover of music  to see passed the "gloss" and into the soul of the songs

Re: A MEMBER LEAVES THE BAND.

Like you say Doc, it can go either way. Van Halen went south for sure but Pink Floyd maintained after Waters (and Barrett for that matter). I'll say I liked the band best with Waters in it but they were no slouches after he left. Another one of my favorites was Little Feat and I just think when Lowell George left (OK died...wasn't really his choice) it was never the same.

I used to be disgusted; now I try to be amused.
