Topic: "Weep Not For Me"

Recently two people I know quite well have died and this got me thinking about my family and friends and how, when my time comes, I would like them to remember me. This song is the result.

Re: "Weep Not For Me"

HI Roger,
Very sorry for the loss of your friends. You've written a gem of a song here my friend. Your vocals are getting better each time I listen to you. I really like the harmony vocal on the final line, you nailed it! Great job Roger.

Re: "Weep Not For Me"

Hi Toney and Ark,

Thanks for the positive comments.

I have decided it will be played at my funeral but as I plan on living to be 120 years old that is some time off, so you have another 58 years of putting up with me lol.

Re: "Weep Not For Me"

Sorry about your friends, Rodger. It's never easy loosing people you care about. I like the line "Weep not the adventure has begun". What a good way to look at it. Great song and well done on the recording

Re: "Weep Not For Me"

Hi Roger, my condolences for your loss.

Think this is a great song. The words are actually quite uplifting for what is traditionally a sombre subject, I like that.

Chin up and keep up the good work. Here's to another 58 years of good tunes!

All I got, is a red guitar, three chords and the truth

Re: "Weep Not For Me"

Hi Roger smile

I'm afraid we are all getting to that age where we seem to be loosing friends and pondering our own fate. Personally I think this is a good thing. This a very nice write on a tough subject. Another outstanding vocal and recording from you.

Glad to hear you plan on being around another 58 years. That gives lots of time to plan some kind of Chordie Clan Bash.

Condolences on your loses.

Re: "Weep Not For Me"

oooh this is a little morose my friend, sounds like your planning the last great journey? i sincerely hope not.

this i expect is very personal and your wearing your heart on your sleeve here. as i've said before, we all have a soul-mate, finding that person is the hard bit...but i know you'll get there

talk soon

Ask not what Chordie can do for you, but what you can do for Chordie.

Re: "Weep Not For Me"

Hi Kenny,

Thanks, the Chordie Clan Bash is certainly an exciting idea and being around for the next 58 years will give me plenty of chance to win the Euromillions lottery to ensure that it happens smile.

Sorry Phill, you have completely got the 'wrong end of the stick' here. Far from being morose it was meant to lighten and uplift. If you read my earlier messages you will see that I plan to being around for a long time to come and there are no hidden meanings in the lyrics. It is simply meant to say that death is not a thing to be tearful about but is the start of a new chapter in one's existence, a new adventure into unknown territory....

Sorry if you see it this way, it means that I did not get it right so it is back to the drawing board sad.

Re: "Weep Not For Me"

roger,

i appologise profusely my old mate, it's obvious that i'm the one that's feeling morose, i had a couple of wee tinnies last night and...well the desired effect was not reached. morning shift and redundancy have depressed me.

talk soon.

just read the other comments above and listened to the recording, you do get a great sound and your voice and harmonies are top drawer, i really should read the intro before jumping in like that, but i was trying to save a bit of time to get through everything.

my sincere condolences to your good self and the families of your friends.
