Here is a local Nova Scotian that i followed since the laye 60's. Sadly he passed on. we have a Dutch mason blues fest every year and is an awesome time.

Years ago I partied with Dutch at a kitchen party till the wee hours. An acoustic and a blues harp and the kitchen rocked .

Duch Mason is a soulful performer. Some of us older white boys are just handy with a tune.
Gove Scrivenor is much respected down here in the South.
He is soulful like Dutch, with a unique approach to guitar.

I hadn't heard that he passed away. I remember listening to him. Seeing him perform live. Very sad. Another great artist gone.

Yes very sad to hear that Dutch passed on. Every year [6th annual] Truro, Nova Scotia puts on a three day Dutch Mason Blues Fest, Last year the headliners were Bonnie Rait, James Cotton, and Hubert Sumlin, plus many blues bands from the US and Canada. The rumor this year is that Eric Clapton may headline, The year before Mr. Buddy Guy blew the crowd away.
The organizers are determined to book big acts which is ok in my books. Its a great feeling to be up close watching the blues ledgens ply their trade. The camp site is full of guitars and jams pop up all over, last year I pulled an all niter just going from jam to jam with my blues harps and always fit in the group. It was a real blast. Already got my camp site and tickets for this year. Dutch's passion for the blues lives on.

Friends of mine from Halifax went to it last year. Said it was a blast! Oh you make me homesick with your stories Badeye. I was a bartender in Dartmouth, the Crazy Horse, in the 80's. We had so many great acts play there. BB King, Meatloaf, The Tragically hip started their career there, Collin James, Haywire (old friends of mine) and of course Jeff Healey, another great musician taken from us too soon. Jeff's drummer is from Dartmouth. He was always phoning my place to ask my roommate out. Jeff was always asking me out. For some reason my roommate and I both always declined. Hmmm......Jeff was a couple of years younger than I was and in my 20's that made a difference I guess. I remember seeing him playing when he was 19 or so in Halifax, at a talent show. That's when we first met. He asked me to dance and we did! But I always thought of him as a little brother I guess. We lost touch with each other after we both moved from the maritimes but I was so happy to hear that he had married and had children. Loved his Jazz albums too.

Ah yes, many great musicians came through ole Halifax. I seen Jeff Healy play in Luciile's
Bar in Darthmouth and thought he was totally awesome. I think maybee Lucille's turned into the Crazy Horse as it changed names often. I bet heaven has some awesome blues band.

You got it right Badeye. Lucille's or Lucifer's used to be the Crazy Horse Cabaret. Had many names over the years. Thought you might have been there. 
So cool. If you get to see Eric Clapton this summer, I"m gonna be so jealous. Stay Cool.

Looking for some help....Does anyone out in guitar land, have the lyrics and chords for a song from the "Statler Brothers" called - "The Best I Know How". I have looked everywhere, and I can get the lyrics, but not the chords. I have tried to match it up my ear, but I am not that good, and have failed. Anyone who can help me would be greatly appreciated. Thanks,
