Topic: FINALLY

FINALLY the acoustic PRS is on the market.
To see the models and hear the sound you need to go to www.prsguitars.com.
There are 2 models, and as far as the PC reproduces the sound, well, I admit FABULOUS.
PRS has always given us great, but very expensive electric guitars, so he used the dame high standard for the acoustics:
- the TONARE GRANDE: not a real dreadnought, but more orchestra model
- the ANGELUS: a beauty with a cutaway.

Options: pick-up system
Concerning the material used, the construction, it will be an expensive guitar.
Before I die, this is the guitar of my dreams.
FOR ONE OF THESE: I WILL SAVE SOME MONEY, it is my goal to get one of these guitars.

WHAT ABOUT YOU PRS FANS ON CHORDIE? Just listen and judge, they have an unique sound.

Re: FINALLY

Hey Doc,
I think I saw those in the Sweetwater catalog that arrived in the mail (they are a US Midwest mail order company). Since they make such a great electric, I'm looking forward to your complete review of the acoustic. I running out of space for guitars myself and my supervisor (who also happens to be my spouse) will kill me if she sees anymore guitar deliveries. Sure would like a high end 12 string though....maybe I'll have it shipped to work and sneak it in...

I used to be disgusted; now I try to be amused.

Hi Lieven,
I called my friend from our local music shoppe and he gave me the suggested retail prices for the Paul Reed Smith acoustic guitars;

The Tonare Grand   $7,460.00
The Angelus            $5,250.00

Definitely not cheap guitars!!!!!

Lordy...that's some coin. I stick to my Takamines for that price. I'm not sure with my talent level I deserve a 5000 acoustic.

Re: FINALLY

I'm sure it is a great guitar, but for that kind of money I'd rather go with Taylor or Martin.

You can see all my video covers on http://www.youtube.com/bensonp1000
I have finally found happiness in my life.  Guitars, singing, beer and camping.  And they all intertwine wonderfully.

Re: FINALLY

Bensonp, they seem to be (reading crirics) THE BEST of THE BEST.
And about the price, there is also a TONARE with exactly the same price as THE ANGELUS.
You can't denie that the price is really high.
Since my car crash, and my victory I changed a lot, more concerned with prices.
When I was still working, I saw a lot of patients + a lot of patients I saw 1 - 2 times, coming from sometimes 50-80 miles from my office. I was a skilled
- a doc, working with lasers both therapeutical and surgical.
- a doc, specialised in helping people to loose weight (I saw a lot of "misses" like miss Belgium and those were the easy ones.
- a doc very skilled in HYPNOSIS.
So at that time, I worked like a "nut case"with a big cash flew, I should already have one.
USA: 5250$ = 3900€ I have a Martin D45V bought at Gruhn's store for 5000$ and one of the biggest guitar stores they offered me several times if I wanted to sell this guitar, paying me 8000$ I refused. WHAT MATTERS IS THE EURO VERSUS THE DOLLAR. This results in a much cheaper price, I can even order it, and travel to a store in USA, and I sill will have money, only because of the dollar.
It is cheaper than the top Martins, a difference of 500€ compared to the HD-28.
It's all a question of what your priorities are. I will try to travel to New Zeeland, but I don't have a clue what my body will do. There is a 50/50 chance that I can't travel no longer, and add the fact that while still working I did stupid things, like rewarding myself with a guitar, because I was convinced I earned it. THOSE DAYS ARE GONE and so my first item on my list is:
- paying all the bills, my house, food and if there was still money left:
1) Traveling (almost always to the USA)
2) A guitar
I stopped working end 2004, when patients have to carry your bag, and I being a "walking pill"I was hit by something at the Hoover dam = I didn't want to return, panic, anxiety, scared because I realized that it was over, and knowing the verdict = STOP WORKING I had a lot of trouble to adapt (I can't accept it, even today) and month after month I had to work to adapt me.
But that's a different story.
