Topic: Dimebag harmonic squeals

Ive been playing for about two years, and have progressed very quickly with a guitar. Now, i have been listening to A LOT of pantera recently, and am wondering how to do the high-pitched squeals that Dimebag Darrel once did. Im fairly certain that they're NOT pinch harmonics, because i know how to do those. I've seen an instructional video on how to do them, but i didn't catch on to it, and he instructs the use of a tremolo. I play a les paul, no tremolo, and have been trying to do this technique for almost a year. anyone out there that can help?

I don't know but you might also want to check if there are any how to's from Zack Wild. He uses them alot and also plays a LP.

Re: Dimebag harmonic squeals

Some guys make a harmonic at the 12th, 7th, or 5th fret then push and pull on the trem. This will give you a crazy squeal sound but is isn't a pinch harmonic... just the kind you make when you touch the string without pushing it onto the fret. Try that.
