Topic: Sick Acoustic AMP

I purchased a Dean acoustic 20w  practice amplifier last year while traveling out of state and it has always made a loud frying noise sometime during the use of it.  A loud pop, I can lightly tap the top of the cabinet and it will stop (usually)  sometime I have to cut it off to get it to stop.  any suggestions please, please help.

Kinda, sorta sounds like a loose wire either on the speaker or on the jack. This could be a very sumple fix. Carry in to a music store - might get better service from a small independent than one of them large stores - and have them check it out. You could also call Dean and talk to their service tech about  whats happening. If you bought it new there might even be some warranty left. Don't give up, hope.

I'm not a tech and know very little about amplifiers...but I can tell you this. Avoid the temptation to open it up and start probing around if you don't know what you are doing. Some have tranformers or capacitors that can store and hold lethal dosage of electricity! You can be seriously injured or killed even if it's not plugged in!
