Topic: DOES THE ACTION ON A NEW GUITAR GET HIGHER AS TIME GOES ON

hi everyone ive just bought a new takamine 3 weeks old but im not playing long only 5 months.but i think the action is getting higher, the strings need more effort than when i bought it.or am i just imagining it.does this happen to guitars?

Take it back to the shop to get it set-up.

Hi Eammat and as this is your first posting... Welcome to Chordie!

  Back to the shop for a look and possible adjustment might be your best advise as it should be still under warranty.  One would not normally expect that the bridge would lift or neck warp in so short a time as three weeks unless something was not set up or adjusted in the first place.  I have seen bracing under the saddle where the bridge is attached split due to drying and the top of the guitar bow upwards increasing the action.  That requires repairs that if left until out of warranty, can be expensive.  Go get it checked out at your dealer and hopefully it is just something like a loose truss rod.
