Re: Need help tuning my guitar to CGCFAD.

hey man... do you know the 5th fret tuning trick? if you do, just tune the low e string down one step to D, and tuning straight down (like you would to get standard tuning), and then drop the D down one step to C... and there you go. It's pretty easy actually. I play in this tune a lot to play Breaking Benjamin, System of a Down, Deftones, etc.

The first song I learned to play by them was 'Polyamorous'. It is pretty basic all the way through, the only tricky part is the verse, but you should'nt have too much trouble playing it. Breaking Benjamin songs are really fun to play, I guess just when you hear a riff or part you like, find tabs or something (i don't know how you learn songs) and just go with it. Once you get to that tuning, it is pretty easy to figure out their songs by ear (i don't know how far along you are with learning by ear yet). They use a lot of open chords, bar chords etc. I have a lot of fun playing 'Rain' too. I play and sing that one though. 'Wish I May' is another easy one to start with. Oh, and no problem about the tuning tip. If you need any more, send me a message... i'll be glad to help out. I play in all sorts of different tunings and all sorts of different music.

Another fun Breaking Benjamin song to play is 'Follow'.
