think it might be D ... but willing to be corrected - only saying this because I followed your link and the chord of D seemed to fit more than others ...
I just played slide along with the video the tuning is D A D A D F# and the key is D tune the low E down to D for a fuller sound

thanks for replying so fast
That's a great song jimmy and seasick steve really has a nice feel for an audience and I like the ease at which he played it was fun learning,I did have to play the video a few times to get the slide technique he used which was a combination of finger picking and slide work then tune the strings for the exact sound I used a small glass slide on my third finger to free my second to fret the note thats in between the slide up to the 5th fret and the change in between is a straight bar on the 5th down to the 3rd plus some cool notes along the way but thanks for posting this link it was a very enjoyable learning experience
Hi Russell,
Did you happen to listen to his song about chiggers, in the black cab sessions, he uses that same slide and picking method, it's great.
Cam
cam I bookmarked this link and I have seen other artists perform in the black cab series but have not seen seasick steve yet, perhaps I can find a link to it,I did watch some of the interviews he gave "Matilda" his travling van he really seems like a down to earth guy
Hi Again Russell,
I read somewhere that he was born in Oakland Cali. He tried Nashville but for whatever reason didn't make it there, he now lives in Norway, If I'm not mistaken. Here's the link.

Saw Seasick at Reading Festival the last 2 years. He is a fantastic perfomer and Russell you are right - he certainly knows how to work a crowd. I don't know if he tours much in the states but he is well worth the money.
thanks cam "chiggers" is really a down home blues and seasick steve has a real good feel for it I enjoyed this vid
