Vrs 2

I hit hit road an angry man with a fire inside of me.

I knew someday that I'd leave my mark on the people that I meet.

Always looking never finding the road to Your Cheating Heart.

When those tears came down like falling rain, they very nearly tore me right apart.

CHORUS...

I'm a late-night, Down-right worn out cowboy bootin' country song.

I'm the reason those Blue Eyes are cryin',

and why Some Body Done Somebody Wrong.

I'm the Red Headed Stranger who's Old Love Letters that you burned.

I'm the Walking Contradiction that Kriss talked about,

with a reputation that I've earned

Vrs 3

I've seen a lot of highways, but I've been led down the garden path.

I've lived my life in a suitcase, with a picture and a memory from the past.

Balancing on a razors' edge with a guitar, a woman and a shank.

Runnin' down ole Maybaline in a Hot Rod Ford owned by Daddy Frank.

Vrs 4

I've Always Been Crazy, but its' kept me from going insane.

Remember Me when the candle lights are gleaming and Bobby Dylan sing Lay Lady Lay.

I Hear That Train A Comin', it's rolling right around the bend.

I Hear That Lonesome Whipperwill, please Take Me Back Home Again.

REPEAT CHORUS

Re: Late-night, Down-right

Howdy johnnyvitalis!  I can hear that lonesome whipporwill also - I like your song and all the references to classic country twangers.  Reminds me of some wonderful old tunes.

I just recently 'discovered' Faron Young's stuff and am having big fun with those old country classics.

I think I got the general sense of the chord changes, but wish it were posted so that it would appear 'all gussied-up and purty'.  Check out the 'Post Formatted Songs' thread for the secret spells that yield that beautiful chordie format.

Keep 'em comin' . . . James

Re: Late-night, Down-right

Hi again johnnyvitalis,

You owe me a guitar string!! I got carried away belting this one out and bust my 'E' string <img src="images/smiley_icons/icon_lol.gif" border=0 alt="Laughing">

I think I prefer this to "No Apologies" but I hasten to add that could very well change if I heard them as they were intended. I seem to remember from an earlier posting that you are a performer, so the big hint I am trying to drop here (and I did notice the posting about the recording studio) let us hear them please.

Re: Late-night, Down-right

Thanks Roger and James for your positive comments.I'm giggleing to myself over the broken string thing. That tells me that you got the feel of both songs. "No Apologie" is a beat driven song, and "Late-night" is a pounding, gidy-up go type of thing. I agree James that there is a lot of room for "finessing"(is that a word?) in "No Apology". I hear it, but too bad my guitar playing ability has to catch up to my "wants". Does that make sense?

As far as posting a performance of these or other songs I am working towards that. With trying to get the studio off the ground, right now I am knee deep in paper work, administration B.S. and Goverment Hoop Jumping. I am not the most computer savy person on the planet, so I need some help there. When things settle down a bit , My Wife and I will sit down and put some stuff together.

Yes I do have all kinds of recording "stuff" but no visual equipment besides a decent digital camera. Can I give you the sound somehow without the visual, somewhere? Again She's the computer wiz, not me. As a matter of fact today is her birthday so maybe we'll spend the day playing together and see what happens. We may even get the instruments out!!!!ha ha.

Talk to yu later guys, stay tuned!

Re: Late-night, Down-right

As I stated earlier James, I am not a computer kind a guy. Where is this "formatted song post" thing?

Sounds complicated, but it is not - James
