Topic: Question for seasoned performers

When covering a song at a school event is it necessary to file anything or to contact the artist or something?  What about fundraisers?

Hey Sanguine,
I think that you can cover any song you want as long as you don't put it in a album. If you do put it in a album its something like $80 a song. So you should be good but look it up online in case I'm wrong.
