Topic: Need A Bit Of Help With A Translation?

As most who know me, will know that I sing and play Old Style Country.  One of the songs I

play is Jambalaya by Hank Williams Sr.  Now I know we have members from Canada,

perhaps some of them are French Speaking or anyone for that matter who can speak French,

I would love to hear the Translation of the Line in the chorus of the song, that goes,

Thibay-deaux,  Fountaineaux.  What it means and how to pronounce it properly, I think I
     
know what Fountaineaux, means but I would like to be sure and to be able to sing the words

right when I proform the song.

i love hank! i think there place names. because he says " to thibay deaux to foutainneaux the place is buzzin" but thats just a guess, my favorite hank song is rockin chair money

According to the dictionary it means,  IE. Thibay means Underfelt or carpet,

deaux means To stroll about,  and Fountaineaux  means  sprain.

Doesen't seem right does it.

It is a town and also a popular family name in south La.

Fountaineaux could also be translated as the waters of the fountain, but it's more likely to be a placename.

I wonder if Fountaineaux is a corruption of Fountainbleau - it's a town with the largest Chateau in France - just outside Paris ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ch%C3%A2te … tainebleau ).

Fountaineaux, meaning Fountainblau, well Allan, that's what I thought, so I guss I'll just

Thibodaux and Fontineau(x) are both big family names in southern Louisiana cajun country.  I think that's what he's refering to in the song,

"Thibodaux, Fontaineaux, the place is buzzin',
Kinfolk come to see Yvonne by the dozen."

Singing about all the people that are there.
