Topic: Country Girl - Crosby Stills Nash & Young cover w/ 4 part hamonies

This was my second ever pure digital recording made on 2/3/07. I plugged my stereo mic directly into my soundcard and set up the songbook in front of me (it had been decades since I played this one!) and recorded a live solo acoustic version in one take.

Back then I did not know how to video myself while recording and combine the two like I do now so I put together a slide show of some great CSNY photos that are probably a lot more interesting than watching me play while reading a songbook!
In October 2007 I had been experimenting with overdubbing harmony vocals so I decided to turn my solo recording into a four part harmony version which meant singing each harmony part individually four times.
I still don't have multi-tracking capability so this was simple overdub right onto the WAV file.

Now I knew going in that there was absolutely no way that one amateur guy with only a guitar and one cheap microphone could ever do this song justice but I wanted to try this because for me Harmony vocals were very much something new. I was surprised that each harmony vocal did not take all that long to do. As with all the songs I do I'm able to hear the original very clearly in my memory so that was my guide. So this is my amateur take on this great song from Deja Vu!

Nice job on that too.  I went ahead and subscribed.  Wouldn't want to miss a good one.
