My guitar is a guitar made in japan but it plays real well and it has an S-1 toggle switch the name of the guitar is Aria Pro 2 RS Knight Warrior. Are you happy with it? What is your playing level, what sound are you trying to achieve? You can always hot rod it. What makes a good guitar, back to the first question. Are you happy with it? Then it's a good guitar.

it is a great guitar but im just afraid that people wont take me seriously cuz it looks all heavy metal,the sound is great as well but im thinking of gettin some dimarzio pickups (humbucker at bridge and two other single coils)
because all the other advice i've gotten said so.
It doesn't matter what other persons think. If the guitar is to your liking that is what matters. Besides if you can make it sing people aren't going to care what it looks like they are going to get off on the sound it is producing. Only you can control that, if you want to hot rod it go for it. But do it because you want to not because some one said so.
Choosing guitars are like finding the right woman (I don't care if i'm p.c. or not!) alot of them look good but not all of them are for you. Until you find the right one keep on trying them out (both <img src="images/smiley_icons/icon_lol.gif" border=0 alt="Laughing"> ).

Reminds me of a blog I was reading by a guy with a big hollowbody archtop (Gretsch or Casino or something) who was saying it was good for playing in church because the old people would react badly to a strat or LP. Now he could get nasty with the archtop but it was the shape that reassured the congregation.
Certainly you need to feel comfortable with a guitar. I've always wondered about some of those to-die-for finishes, goreous but how would you feel if you wore a scratch above the plate? Sometimes a lived-in, no-nonsense finish makes a guitar approachable.
The Aria Pro II isn't as 80's metal as say a B.C. Rich, it's basicly a strat shape with a curving scratchplate. If it plays well then stick with it...
I played a japanese strat with a single EMG 81 humbucker through a Johnson J station and a Randall RG80 with a Celestion G12-80 in it. Yes it was in a worship band for about 2 years before I got my Fender DeVille with 4-10's. We were loud.
<font face="Century"><font color="blue">I'm with Cytania and Bootleger...if you like the guitar and it plays well for you then it's the best guitar in the World! Don't take too much stock in some of these reviews...many are written by kids who are into metal and thrash and don't really care a whole lot about versatility or sublety in a guitar. These days we have so many effects pedals and units to turn a mild mannered guitar into a screamer...sort of hard to turn a super hot screamer into a worship guitar. Hotrodding is fun but do it with a purpose...you can easily put hotter pickups and switching and really rock...most guitars (especially Japan made) are better instruments than most of us can play...</font></font>
i got the guitar cuz sombody wanted to trade me for my after market gibson sg so since it was an after market i said what the hell it comes to find out that i love the guitar it sounds and plays so much better than the sg so thanx for the advice bootlegdude <img src="images/smiley_icons/icon_biggrin.gif" border=0 alt="Very Happy">
i took your advice and got some tips from other people and made that guitar my baby i make it sing like......well like sombody who sings good thanx <img src="images/smiley_icons/icon_biggrin.gif" border=0 alt="Very Happy">
i played with a jam band for a year with nothing but a series101 standard and a johnson showtime practice amp.....but then i got a job
i took everybodys advice and fell in love with this guitar i think im gonna put a couple of Dimarzios in it so i can just fix the sound a little cuz it sounds kinda dirty so thanx for the advice
Take a look at some Seymore Duncans or Rio Grande pickups before you decide on DiMarzios. They are worth a look. Price wise you can also take a look at GFS pickups I have not tried their humbuckers yet (awaiting a set to be delivered).
