Topic: Oldfield guitar and Line 6 amp

Greetings all,

Well I've just got my third guitar, a christmas present from my fave Aunt. Its a red Oldfield SH20 semi-acoustic, what a peach of a guitar and what a present !
I've also got a Fender Tele and a Yamaha APX acoustic.
I've got 2 questions -

- has anyone got one of these Oldfield guitars and what are they like, so far its outstanding,

- also I've got a Kustom 10FX amp and I'm going to buy a new amp. I've looked at a Line 6 Spider, either the 15 or the 30 watt. Does anyone have any of these and what are they like.

Hi there,

After several years away from playing I returned from guitar wilderness recently and treated myself to a Line 6 Spider 30 watt. I chose the 30 watt over the 15 because there wasn't a great deal of difference in the price ( I ordered mine from Dolphin Music in the U.K.)

I am on a fairly tight budget and for me this amp ticks all the right boxes, primarily because it has some great pre-set sounds as well as allowing you to tweak the amp models and effects.

I have a Line6 Spider III 75 and I love it ... the 15 and 30's will still give you great presets and a number of different effects ... it's a really great buy and plus you don't have to spend a fortune on a bunch of stompboxes ... I'm not sure if the 15/30 comes with a noisegate already installed ... if not, I'd purchase one

For Line-6 Spider amps, you don't need to purchase a noisegate.
There is one built in-to it but you have to use a combination of the buttons while turning it on to access it.
Look up "Line-6 Spider Amp, hidden codes" on google to find the method.

I have a 30W Line-6 spider amp and i didn't know about this until someone clued me in.
