Topic: Digitech Vocalist 2 or 4

Hello,

Anyone have experience with either the Digitech Vocalist 2 or 4 ?   My vocals could use some help but I'm wondering if these pedals are worth the money & effort.

Thanks,
Mike

Re: Digitech Vocalist 2 or 4

I have a digitech vocalist performer but its not a pedal it can give you 3 part harmony with one voice minor or major in any key plus you can mix and match the harmonies you want low or high or just plain 3rds or double your voice for effect with a little delay or reverb, mine is an older model but it still works great and it has a footswitch to turn the effects on or off when you want,im sure they have improved it somewhat condensing into a pedal instead of a square shaped 1 1/2 in high unit i think it cost me around $350.00 10 yrs ago smile

Re: Digitech Vocalist 2 or 4

I’m not interested in adding 2 or 3 part harmonies. Don’t think the audience would buy that from one guy with a guitar.  My problem is: I love to sing but if vocal pleasantness were rated on a scale of 1 to 10, my vocals might rate a 3. I once heard that a Digitech Live 2 or 4 set to “unison† rather than “harmony† could make me sound like Elvis. I don’t aspire to sound like Elvis but if it’s possible to add richness and pleasantness to my vocals, that would be great. I just wanted another opinion before shelling out 3 or 4 hundred dollars.
Thanks,
Mike

backwater its your money spend it any way you choose, myself I think I will stick with the voice I was born with and adding a few harmonies to enhance the song cant hurt, as far as what an audience will buy I think if there willing to shell out good money to listen to amatures singing with a karaoke machine they will accept you singing like neal diamond or whoever, after a few drinks of course smile

Thanks Russell,
So true. The more they drink the better I sound.

Hello , I have a vocalist four that I like alot, not on all songs but i think if you play with it you will be pleasantly surprised. Some of the presets are very good.I would definately buy again if mine were stolen.

Re: Digitech Vocalist 2 or 4

Thanks Wayne,
Since my last post I went to George's Music and tried out a vocalist 4 in one of their sound proff booths. They were closing early because of the holiday so I didn't get to stay long. I'm still  undecided about the vocals but I was surprised that the Digitech Vocalist 4 did not offer any guitar effects. Guess I just assumed it did. I plan to go back and try the Vocalist 2.

Re: Digitech Vocalist 2 or 4

When you go back to check it out if you check out the presets it will light up what guitar effects each preset has. If you get a chance spend a couple hours with it.Some say the guitar effects aren't as good as some pedals but I sure like mine, but i believe it is geared toward acoustic guitars.

Thanks Wayne,
I'll be sure to check out the guitar effects on each preset next time. I also plan to take earphones. The guy in the next booth was getting down on some heavy metal licks so my acoustic had stiff competion even in the closed booth.
