Topic: JAMES BURTON

I googled up James Burton and found his official site, he is my favorite guitarist, there are many who can play faster but Burton has a unique sound and ability to play solos that will never be forgotten and stand alone in his own special place.I was greatly influenced by him when I first started to get serious about music and guitar playing I watched him on the "Ozzie and Harriet"show play with there son Rickey Nelson on songs like "Mary Lou" and the licks or riffs he played were tight and clean and seemingly effortless, Kieth Richards gave the induction speech for him when he was inducted into the hall of fame and he still is kicking out songs with his own style so if you have some time read up on this exceptional musician. smile

Re: JAMES BURTON

Deadstring I spent some time in shreveport back in the late sixties I was touring with a band and we played at a club in shreveport it was owned by Merle Kimberly who was the national traps shooting champion several years running and the band backed up Fats Domino at his club we flew to the madre gras in Merle's plane and rode in one of the floats in the parade, what a blast we were tossing trinkets to the crowd and it was a crazy night and later we flew back to shreveport and after the gig was over we headed to Dallas Fort worth Texas area, yea some fun times then smile
