LOL  I read that to my 16 y/o daughter and she laughed at the phrasing.  (Junior in High School, you can imagine what she hears.)

Oh no! The poor child will think I'm a dirty old man every time she hears that song. Heck I don't even know what a Nobby Dob is. I may not even have one.

Re: Silliness from an old mans past.

Fear not, my daughter is not one to think that.  She is a wise for her age type of child!  Besides it was the phrasing not the image that made her laugh.

How about:
My Bonnie looked into the gas tank.
The height of it's contents to see.
She lit up a match to assist her.
Oh bring back my bonnie to me.

My Bonnie has tuberculosis.
My Bonnie has one rotten lung.
She spits up the blood by the bucket,
and dries it and chews it for gum.

We pronounce it "Guf Coast".
Ya'll wanna go down to the Guf?

Re: Silliness from an old mans past.

Isn't there a country song called "How can I  miss you, when you won't go away!"  ?????

Sort of reminds me in a twisted way of  "My get up and go, got up and went."

Talk about a leap of logic!  lol

Well, I remember the 60's, but alas, I was too young to enjoy all the decadence and sin!  (birth year--1955)  WAAAAAAAAAH

Does that count!  LOL
