Topic: Adding electronics to an acoustic

Does anyone have any thoughts on adding electronics to an acoustic?

I play a Martin 12 string and have a Duncan Seymour soundhole pick-up, which is OK, but it just doesn't do the Martin justice.

I've considered converting but am hestitant.

What does anyone think? Any experiences with this?

Will you be playing by yourself or in a band?


If you will be by yourself, look into the K&K Pure Western.  It has a great natural acoustic tone.  If you are playing with others, especially with drums, the K&K may not be for you, it can feedback at higher volumes.

My money says buy a new guitar with the electronics built in.
