Hi everyone. Newbie here. Just got myself a new Ovation semi acoustic guitar and was surprised at how good it sounded. I think it's my favourite guitar that I've owned( so far ). Anyway, I'd be interested in knowing what other people consider to be their favourite sounding guitar. Thanks In Advance
<font color="blue"></font><b></b><i></i>I think my favorite acoustic was an Epiphone PR-5 E that I should have kept...it had a great sound both acoustic and amplified. I currently have a Martin 16 MC that's a really nice guitar.
my fave is a guitar that is beat to hell and the pawn shops wont loan ya any money on it,so no matter what i always keep an old war horse around the house.ha,ha.,.
Good choice on the Ovation! I have two myself! My next guitar will be either a Takamine or a Martin! I love to have a Taylor, but don't have $2,000 to spare.

My Guild C45F (1984 made, I bought it in 1985 for $800.00 alot of money back then) and My Alvarez Thin body (bought in 1983)
I went to register it on the alvarez yari website and the serial numbers started at a higher number than mine (sn#1950).

A friend of mine has a Guild, I'm not sure what model, but an older make, that sounds excellent. A real "full" sound. My Ovation only cost $800, a steal relly.
I have to agree with Bootlegger. My Alvarez is great sounding I have the ad62sc and it is great. Also my Takeamime has a deep full sound. It has a solid top and botom I think it is an E series.
My wife bought me a Gibson J-45 when she found out she was pregnant with our son. She told me,"when you give me a baby, I'll give you one." I wanted this guitar for over 20 years. Well worth the wait and well worth the cost. It's the finest musical instrument my hands have ever touched.

i've had lots of acoustics...the 2 that have stayed with me are a washburn oscar scmidt cutaway and a hohner hw300. i bought a takamine 12 string in a glasgow music store new in 1980...it's the only one i sold that i rally wish i could get back. my bandmate has 2 alvarez acoustics that play nice, but i bought a cutaway acoustic-electric alvarez a couple years ago that was a real dog. don't remember the model as i didn't have it very long. i've never had an ovation but i've played on several and never saw a bad one.

I bought my first acoustic in about 1962. Since then I have owned Fenders, Gibsons, Guilds, you name it. Since I got my Taylor 710 three years ago, I rarely pick the others up. I recently added a Taylor 545 12 string and couldn't be more pleased. A bit spendy, but once you've had one for a while, you'll forget about the money!

I started playing about 4 months ago, bought a Brunswick electro acoustic for about £ 160(new) not a bad guitar as most of the chinese made stuff is now.
3 weeks ago a friend fiddled around with it, lowered the action etc and now that guitar is so much easier to play, the friend in question is Gordon Giltrap so I guess he must know what he is doing,I promised myself a decent acoustic once I had been playing about 6 months (any suggestions) I still can only play 3 or 4 chord songs but I do find playing with others helps a lot. But you have to keep at it, I remember at the very beginning shouting at my "stupid fat fingers" <img src="images/smiley_icons/icon_lol.gif" border=0 alt="Laughing"> but you have to keep going
A key statement you made "you had your guitar set up" and now it plays much better (easier, feels better to play, you get the picture). I don't know who Gordon Giltrap is but if your pleased on how your guitar plays that's all that matters.

My Favorite Guitar has to be my Takamine 341sc .
i have a hohner 12 string that sounds sweet,my fav is my fender dg8s acoustic.a buddy has a cort that plays very nicely. badeye.
Okay, I'm a Washburn fan. My favourite right now is my '96 D46s Cheyenne
Being Canadian I'm sold on Norman guitars. Solid tops and bottoms, their sound just gets better as they age. Just like us old-timmers.. <img src="images/smiley_icons/icon_cool.gif" border=0 alt="Cool">
I love my <b>1978 Hohner HG320</b>. All solid woods: Bearclaw spruce top w/ roswood back and sides. Bought it in 1997. Cost me all of $219 w/ 5 ply hardshell case included. Plays better than many guitars costing 5-10x the price. As it's a Hohner and has no collector value, I plan on keeping it forever.
I play an Ibanez ael20e,for an acoustic the sound is great. I'ts a large body guitar that realy fills air when you play. Besides the typical high end(priced)guitars I think this is well worth the mon <img src="images/smiley_icons/icon_smile.gif" border=0 alt="Smile"> ey.
